Have you ever looked at your power bills and thought – It would sure be nice if there was information out there to help lower this bill and save money. If so, you’re not alone. Perhaps you also thought – Wouldn’t it be great if the major utilities, experts from non-profits, and business and community members got together and pooled their knowledge and resources with the goal of providing energy efficiency tips and incentives for the benefit of all Douglas County residents. And do it in a way that is easy to access and understand.

Welcome to Douglas County Smart Energy, for this is exactly what’s happened. Douglas Electric, Avista Utilities, Pacific Power, Energy Trust of Oregon, United Community Action Network (UCAN), Neighborworks Umpqua, and business and community members have been working as a group to form Douglas County Smart Energy. The latest incentives and ideas on energy efficiency to save you money and lower your power bill will be presented in a clear and understandable way.

Energy Efficiency Goal

Outreach to all segments of the community to increase awareness of the benefits of energy savings, availability of resources and incentives and positive actions which impact energy usage.

Renewable Energy Goal

Outreach to all segments of the community to increase awareness of the benefits of renewable energy, primarily but not exclusively, solar energy. This will include the availability of resources and incentives demonstrating the feasibility of installing solar panels.

Mission Statement

Educate and engage our community about the economic benefits of energy savings, efficiency, and renewable energy and available incentives in order to encourage projects and attract resources which contribute to job creation, self-reliance and economic development in Douglas County.
